About Us Our Business

Hitt's Fine Furniture began in April 2001 with founder Don Hitt and Salesman Jim Puotinen operating the store full time, and co-founder Mary Hitt working part time. Don had a very strong furniture background and insists on old fashioned service. Since starting in 2001, the Hitt's business has grown and so has the staff. Mary now works full time as the in-store office manager and assisting with customer service. Jim is the Ironwood Store Manager and is well-versed in all the product lines that Hitt's carries. Linda Thompson joined the sales staff in 2002 with an extensive furniture background. Rich Susienka and Estelle Westlund joined the Hitt's staff in April 2008, working out of the Ashland store. They have worked very hard to learn the extensive lines of products available at both locations. They take great pride in keeping the Ashland sales floor clean and well- stocked. The entire staff isdevoted in striving to do their best in serving all customers who come in the doors at Hitt's.

Our professional finishing and delivery staff include Kevin Kangas and Bob Isvorski, who joined the crew in early 2002 and late 2002 respectively. Kevin and Bob take great pride in their job at Hitt's. They do excellent finishing and have become experts in delivering furniture to our customers. They are great ambassadors for the Hitt's way of helping customers. You'll even see them helping out on the sales floor occasionally. Mike Hitt, Don and Mary's son, has been helping at the store since he was 12 and now is an expert finisher with Kevin and Bob. Mike has been working in the finishing department for nine years and working on the delivery truck for five years. All three have become quite proficient in repairing furniture on a case-by-case basis. Everyone at Hitt's takes pride in what they do and and value the relationships that they have developed with our customers.

Hitt's Fine Furniture is a full service furniture store and offers the biggest variety of furniture in Northern Wisconsin and the western U.P. of Michigan.

We offer quality recliners, sofas, loveseats, and chairs from England Upholstery and Flexsteel. There is artwork, finished and unfinished dining room, bedroom, bookcases and entertainment centers, lamps and accessoriess,.

Hitt's also carries Sealy, Sealy Posturepedic and Stearns and Foster bedding. Sealy is the number one name in bedding and has been number one for over 25 years.

Hitt's is also the only unfinished furniture store in the region, offering quality unfinished real wood furniture, a full service stain center for the do-it-yourselfer, and a custom finishing shop that can handle your finishing needs.
